About This Ministry

Guard details embody the military-spiritual tradition of KSJI. With precision drill and respectful bearing, members escort clergy, honour the Eucharist, and accompany bereaved families during funeral rites.

Units train regularly so guards enter church in good order, maintain formation, and retire without disturbing prayer. Commandery members and adjutants coordinate rostering with parish schedules.

Grand Convention, feast day celebrations, and memorial masses often feature combined guards from multiple commanderies — a public witness of Catholic knighthood.
