Following the growth of the Catholic Church and the Order in Ghana, the Supreme Commandery approved a national restructuring in 2012 — establishing seven Grand Commanderies to serve every region with faith, discipline, and effective governance.
Growing With the Church
The Order in Ghana grew alongside the Catholic Church, serving bishops at major religious celebrations and strengthening parish life across newly created dioceses. By 2012, the structure needed renewal for proper management of commanderies and ladies auxiliaries nationwide.
Supreme Restructuring
At the 78th Biennial Convention of the Supreme Commandery in the United States, Ghana's three existing Grand Commanderies were restructured — five new Grands were added and the former Accra Grand Commandery was dissolved.
Seven Grands Today
Today, Tamale, Wa, Kumasi, Koforidua–Ho, Cape Coast, Accra East, and Accra West Grand Commanderies form the seven Grands of Ghana — united in Catholic knighthood from the north to the coast.
Accra West Grand
Accra West Grand, established in 2013, serves the western corridor of the Archdiocese of Accra with thirty commanderies and twenty-seven ladies auxiliaries — the home Grand of this website.

Tamale Grand Commandery
Northern Ghana
Serves the northern ecclesiastical jurisdictions of the Church in Ghana.
Jurisdiction: Tamale Archdiocese, Yendi, Damango, and Navrongo–Bolgatanga Dioceses.
Wa Grand Commandery
Upper West
Covers the Upper West Region with parish-based commanderies and auxiliaries.
Jurisdiction: Wa Diocese.
Kumasi Grand Commandery
Ashanti & Brong-Ahafo
One of the largest Grands, anchoring KSJI across central Ghana.
Jurisdiction: Kumasi Archdiocese, Obuasi, Konongo-Mampong, Sunyani, Techiman, and Goaso Dioceses.
Koforidua–Ho Grand Commandery
Eastern & Volta
Links commanderies across the eastern and volta belts of the country.
Jurisdiction: Koforidua, Ho, Keta-Akatsi, Jasikan Dioceses, and the Donkokrom Vicariate.
Cape Coast Grand Commandery
Central & Western
Historic Grand with deep KSJI roots in the Central Region.
Jurisdiction: Cape Coast Archdiocese, Sekondi–Takoradi, and Wiawso Dioceses.
Accra East Grand Commandery
Greater Accra — East
Serves the eastern corridor of the Archdiocese of Accra.
Jurisdiction: Osu, Madina-Adenta, Tema, Ashiaman, and Bartor Deaneries.

Our Grand — thirty commanderies and twenty-seven ladies auxiliaries.
